The Hays Veterinary Hospital was established in 1946. Our mission: to provide compassionate quality care that exceeds our customers' expectations.
To better serve our clients- we request that you make an appointment for your pets needs. We schedule appointments Monday-Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 p.m. Saturdays we are open 8:00 am - 1:00 pm (walk ins)-due to the amount of paw traffic that we see on Saturday's, we ask that you come in between 8am - 12pm. Dr. Steve Mosier
Dr. Steven R. Mosier was raised in Hoxie, KS. After high
school he moved to Manhattan, KS and attended Kansas State University. He
graduated from the KSU College of Veterinary Medicine in 1966. After earning
his DVM, Dr. Mosier worked in Wichita and Nebraska before he joined the Army
Veterinary Corps. He served 2 years as a food inspection officer and SAO. In
1970, Dr. Mosier moved to Hays, KS and joined Hays Veterinary Hospital with Dr.
Paul McRae. In 1972, he became a partner with Dr. John Locke. In 1995, Dr.
Mosier became the sole owner of Hays Veterinary Hospital. He served 1 term as
the KVMA President in 1992 and was named Veterinarian of the Year in Kansas in
2000. He is a member of AVMA and KVMA. He married his wife Linda in 1965 and
they have 4 daughters, 4 grandsons and 1 granddaughter. He has had 4 brothers,
3 nephews and 1 niece in Veterinary Medicine. At home he has 2 cats, Peanut and
Little One. His shadow that follows him to the clinic is his French Bulldog, Pogo. After 45 plus years, Dr. Mosier still enjoys all aspects of veterinary
medicine, but particularly enjoys the value of serving the human/animal bond.
Dr. Mark Meier
Dr. Mark Meier was born and raised here in Hays, KS. He
graduated from Hays High School in 2005 then went on to Kansas State University
where he earned his Bachelor's Degree in Animal Science and graduated from KSU
College of Veterinary Medicine in 2014. After graduating, Dr. Meier practiced
at an emergency clinic in Wausau, Wisconsin before returning to Hays Veterinary
Hospital in December 2014. In addition to liking general practice, Dr. Meier
enjoys working with emergency/critical care and neurological cases.
He is a member of AVMA, KVMA, American Assoc. of Feline Practitioners and Veterinary Emergency Critical Care Society.
At home he and his wife, Caroline, enjoy cheering for the K-State
Wildcats, traveling, going on motorcycle rides, and camping. They have one amazing dog Rapscallion and a adventurous cat Chester.
